Kōzan-ji Temple and the Statue of Takasugi Shinsaku

In the historic city of Shimonoseki stands Kōzan-ji Temple, a place closely connected to one of the turning points in modern Japanese history. Near the temple is a statue of Takasugi Shinsaku, a young samurai remembered for his courage and determination during a time of great change.
