Momochi Beach and Fukuoka Tower

Today, I would like to introduce a place from my hometown.

When people think of Japan, they often imagine ancient temples, historic shrines, and traditional gardens.
Yet modern Japan also has its own unique beauty.
One of the places that represents contemporary Fukuoka is Momochi Beach and Fukuoka Tower.

Located along the waterfront, Momochi Beach offers a wide view of the sea and sky, creating an atmosphere that feels surprisingly open for a major city.
Just beside the beach stands Fukuoka Tower, the tallest seaside tower in Japan.

Its mirrored exterior reflects the changing light throughout the day, giving the tower a different appearance depending on the weather and season.

What I enjoy most about this area is the contrast.
The sea.
The modern skyline.
The relaxed pace of life.

Everything exists together in a way that feels distinctly Fukuoka.
On clear days, people walk along the beach, enjoy the ocean breeze, and watch the sun slowly set over Hakata Bay.

For visitors from overseas, Momochi offers a glimpse of a different side of Japan — not ancient or traditional, but modern, comfortable, and closely connected to the sea.
Whenever I visit this area, I am reminded of why I enjoy living in Fukuoka.

It is a city where urban life and nature remain remarkably close to one another.
